Have Questions?

Frequently Asked
Questions

What’s the difference between functional and aesthetic rhinoplasty?

Functional rhinoplasty corrects structural issues that affect breathing (like a deviated septum), while aesthetic rhinoplasty reshapes the nose for cosmetic reasons. Many patients benefit from a combination of both, especially if breathing issues and cosmetic concerns go han

Is rhinoplasty painful?

Discomfort is typically mild and well-managed with prescribed painkillers. Most patients describe it more as pressure or congestion rather than sharp pain.

How long does it take to recover from surgery?

Most swelling and bruising resolve within 10–14 days. You can return to work or daily activities after about one week, but full healing and final results may take up to 12 months.

Will there be visible scars?

If done with an open approach, there may be a small scar at the base of the nose (columella), which usually heals very well and becomes nearly invisible over time.

What if I’ve already had a nose job and I’m not happy?

Dr. Boci specializes in complex and revision rhinoplasty. He can assess your nose and discuss corrective options.

Can I wear glasses after rhinoplasty?

It’s best to avoid resting glasses on your nose for at least 4–6 weeks post-surgery. Alternatives like cheek support or tape can be used if necessary.
